Arvest Bank has been honored with the 2024 Business Partnership Excellence Award by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for its long-standing support of Cameron University. The award, which was presented during a ceremony on March 7, highlights successful partnerships and cultivates the higher learning environment through State Regents’ Economic Development Grants.
“Cameron’s partnership with Arvest Bank has been ongoing for more than 20 years,” says John McArthur, CU president. “Arvest’s continuing support comes in a variety of ways, including financial donations to support numerous programs at the university, scholarship support, cooking hotdogs at campus events and sponsoring a booth at the annual Red River Career Expo. Our students, faculty, staff and alumni have all benefited from Arvest’s continuing support of Cameron University.”
"We're honored to receive the Business Partnership Excellence Award," says David Madigan, President/CEO Arvest Bank Southwest Oklahoma. "Cameron University provides access to vital education and training that opens the door for so many individuals and helps move our community forward. We're proud of our partnership with CU and look forward to continuing our support in the future."
Arvest supports CU in events ranging from athletics to the arts. Most recently, Arvest provided the lead gift that assisted in the establishment of the Cameron University Banking Institute (CUBI), which connects students to the financial industry in southwest Oklahoma and connects classroom learning to real-world application. Additionally, the Arvest Ignite Intern Program is providing students with a summer intern experience that, in some cases, results in full time employment. This partnership is creating opportunities that are improving lives in southwest Oklahoma and beyond.
Additionally, Arvest is a corporate member of the Cameron University Foundation’s President’s Partners, and Madigan serves as a member of the Cameron University Foundation executive committee.
