Cameron University-Duncan will continue its series of workshops aimed at helping parents who have homeschooled high school students prepare for post-secondary education with “Paying for Post-Secondary Education.” The free, informational session is set for Thursday, November 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. at CU-Duncan. Interested parents and students from southwest Oklahoma are welcome to attend either virtually or in person.
No registration is required for those who choose to attend in-person. To receive a secure Zoom link, email duncan@cameron.edu.
Representatives from Oklahoma Money Matters (OKMM) will present information relevant to financial aid, including scholarships and an overview of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA ® ).
An initiative of the Oklahoma College Assistance Program and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, OKMM is a personal finance education program that helps K-12 schools, higher education campuses, businesses and community partners develop or expand educational services that empower Oklahomans to make positive financial choices by offering information, resources and a variety of services to educate students, adults and families about managing personal finances, saving, consumer credit, financial aid and student loan management.
“Planning for the costs associated with post-secondary education can be daunting,” says Dakota Kaus, director of CU-Duncan. “We want to make sure that we provide access to pertinent information and resources to help students and parents navigate the process. We want to make sure that parents know what financial aid opportunities exist and how their children can apply for them.”
