A busy semester of movie production will culminate with a special screening of Cameron University student-produced work at the Vaska Theater on Monday, November 21, at 7 p.m. Movies produced by Glen Archer, Kyleigh Neitzke, Logan Pina, Alec Santos, all of Lawton; Kalen Haynes, Dallas, Texas; and Blake Moren, Duncan, will be shown.
The students produced the movies in the advanced production class offered through Cameron’s Journalism and Media Production program. Genres for the short films include horror, comedy and drama.
“I’m looking forward to seeing these movies,” says Dr. Matt Jenkins, professor in the Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages. “We’ve been hosting regular movie nights at the Vaska for a while, screening independent movies and hosting a director’s Q-and-A afterward. The Vaska Theater is the perfect venue for this special screening, where we are proud to present the best in student work.”
“I’m very excited to premiere my movie and to watch all of my peers’ films,” says Santos, a junior Journalism and Media Production major. “It’s going to be fun.”
