Community members, including veterans, military service members and dependents, seeking information about the PACT Act and veteran healthcare resources, are invited to Cameron University’s seventh Vet Fest. The one-day takes place on Thursday, April 3, on the second floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
“Vet Fest is excited to host the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System’s local community engagement event at Cameron University,” says Vicki Henson, Assistant Director of Financial Assistance Services and Coordinator of Veterans Affairs. “During Vet Fest, we will provide information about the impact of the newly enacted PACT Act. Under this act, the Department of Veterans Affairs has launched one of the biggest expansions of healthcare in its history. All veterans exposed to toxic substances and other hazards during military service are now eligible to enroll directly in VA healthcare without first applying for VA benefits.”
During Vet Fest, PACT Act screeners will be on-site to facilitate applying for these specific VA health benefits. Additional health and support services will also be available.
