Celebrate the season with tree lighting events at Cameron University campus in Lawton and Duncan

Residents of Southwest Oklahoma and beyond are invited to celebrate the holiday season with festive tree lighting ceremonies hosted by Cameron University at both its Lawton and Duncan campuses. On Wednesday, November 30, festivities are scheduled at the Lawton campus beginning at 6 p.m. in Bentley Gardens. Cameron University-Duncan’s celebration will take place on Thursday, December 1, starting at 6 p.m. Both events are open to the public at no charge.

All activities will take place outdoors, so community members are advised to bundle up! Attendees will receive a free Cameron commemorative tree ornament as long as supplies last and can also pick up a “make your own ornament” kit. Holiday-themed cookies and popcorn will satisfy any sweet tooth, and hot cocoa will keep the chill away. Cameron mascot Ole Kim will be on hand for photos, and the always popular carriage rides will return to the festivities this year.

“Cameron University looks forward to kicking off the holiday season,” says John McArthur, CU president. “We invite community members from throughout the area to join us for the festivities.”

Parking for the Lawton event is available at the intersection of S.W. University Drive and S.W. D Avenue.

CU-Duncan is located at 3100 W. Bois D’Arc Ave., with parking available adjacent to the building.
