The Cameron University Speech and Debate team travelled to Tulsa Community College to compete in the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Forensic Association state tournament. The Aggie team of Logan Edward, Lanique Magee, Dominic Mann and Nolan Martin faced competitors from 10 schools.
“I’m incredibly proud of this team and the commitment they made to prepare for the state tournament,” says Katie Stringer, coach of CU’s speech and debate team. “They faced a barrage of experienced competitors. Every tournament is a learning experience as we look ahead to next season.”
In JV IPDA Debate, Martin made it to the finals and finished in second place, while Magee was a semi-finalist, and Edwards ended up as the fourth place Speaker Award.
Edwards and Martin took fourth place in Duo Interpretation.
Edwards is a junior political science major from Lawton. Martin is a junior business major from Lawton. Magee is a freshman from Oklahoma City. Mann is a sophomore journalism major from Lawton.
During the tournament, Stringer was elected to serve on the organization’s executive board as treasurer.
