CU student awarded scholarships by state, international CPA associations

Cameron University senior Nevaeh West has been awarded scholarships by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA). West, a resident of Lawton, is pursuing a Bachelor of Accounting degree.

West received the AICPA Foundation Two-Year Transfer Scholarship, which was awarded to just 40 accounting students across the country. The scholarship is awarded to students who are planning to pursue CPA licensure and who are enrolled in a business and/or accounting program that is regionally, nationally or internationally accredited for the full 2024-25 academic year.

OSCPA awarded West the Thomas Fund Memorial Scholarship. She is one of 39 accounting students in Oklahoma to be selected for a scholarship by the organization.

West is a member of CU’s Presidential Leaders and University Scholars program. She is an active member of the Accounting Club, serving one term as treasurer for the organization, and participates in the annual OSCPA Day of Service. She has earned micro-credentials in Personal Finance, Essentials of Financial Accounting, Essentials of Cost and Managerial Accounting, Business Law Fundamentals and Fundamentals of Accounting. In May 2025, West will graduate with a Bachelor of Accounting degree, Associate in Science degree in Business and a certificate in Banking and Finance. She is currently employed at Hatch, Croke and Associates as a staff accountant.
