Cameron University will hold graduation fairs at both the main Lawton campus as well as at CU-Duncan to assist students who plan to participate in Commencement.
The graduation fair at CU-Duncan is slated for Wednesday, February 28, in the Learning Resource Center and will run from 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. The Lawton event will take place on Thursday, February 29, from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the McCasland Ballroom, located in the McMahon Centennial Complex.
During these in-person events, students will be able to coordinate a variety of Commencement-related activities and services in one setting. The first step – and perhaps most important – is completion of the application for graduation, which is required before a degree can be conferred. Graduates-to-be can also purchase caps and gowns, explore graduate school options, discuss student loan obligations and learn about job searches.
At the Lawton campus, this year’s graduates will have the opportunity to have a senior portrait – complete with cap and gown – taken by a professional photographer, so students should be “photo ready.” There is no fee to sit for a portrait; students will only pay for either digital or print versions, should they wish. Also at Lawton, students will be able to order graduation announcements.
Representatives from the Registrar’s Office, Cameron University Alumni Association, Career Services, Admissions, CU Printing Services and Financial Assistance, as well as the CU Bookstore, will be available at the Lawton Graduation Fair to guide graduation candidates through the process. Most will also be on-site at the Duncan Graduation Fair. Students unable to participate in the in-person event may still access graduation services by contacting each office individually.
Commencement 2024 is slated for Friday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Cameron Stadium. Students who completed degree requirements in December 2023 or who will complete requirements in May, July or December 2024 are eligible to participate in the ceremony.
