More than 360 students from eleven southwest Oklahoma high schools converged on Cameron University recently to participate in the university’s 43rd Interscholastic Contest. The academic meet offered events in more than 45 categories ranging from accounting and biology to woodwind instruments and world history.
“Cameron’s annual Interscholastic Contest is a great opportunity for high school students to test their knowledge,” says CU President Jari Akins. “We are deeply appreciative of the schools who brought their students to Cameron, and we congratulate each student on their accomplishments.”
Lawton High School (Class 5A) and Eisenhower High School (Class 6A) claimed the most rankings, with 65 and 49, respectively. Cache High School (Class 4A) claimed 26 rankings, with Altus High School (Class 5A) claiming 24. Anadarko High School (Class 4A), Cyril High School (Class 2A), Ninnekah High School (Class 2A), Sterling High School (Class 2A), Big Pasture High School (Class A), Blair High School (Class A) and Temple High School (Class A) all claimed rankings in at least 4 categories once the scores were tallied.
