High school students and their parents are invited to Cameron Campus Preview Day, an informational event for prospective college students that will provide a jam-packed look at the admissions process, campus life, financial assistance, degree programs and what it means to be a Cameron Aggie in one setting. The multi-faceted event is set for Wednesday, November 15. Check-in will open at 9:30 a.m. at the University Theatre, with activities starting at 10 a.m. To register for Cameron Campus Preview Day, visit https://www.cameron.edu/previewday.
“We look forward to hosting prospective students as they explore the Cameron campus,” says Brenda Dally, Director of Admissions. “Cameron Campus Preview Day provides a perfect opportunity for those considering Cameron for their educational goals to get a first-hand look at CU. We believe that Cameron University offers students a great number of educational options at a very affordable cost. CU is big enough to offer amazing resources for students to help them reach their educational goals but small enough to know our students personally and ensure that they have the network to succeed.”
Cameron President John McArthur will welcome guests with a campus overview at 10 a.m. Attendees will then learn about financial assistance and student housing. Then it’s time for the Aggie Spirit Team and the Jazz Band to teach attendees the CU Fight Song.
Prospective students and their families will then be guided on a campus tour that includes housing options as well as other areas on campus that provide Cameron students with positive learning experiences. There will be an option to sign up for a financial assistance question and answer forum as well as a housing tour.
Following the campus tours, attendees will assemble in the Aggie Rec Center, where they can explore different degree programs with representatives from Cameron’s academic units. CU offers almost 50 distinct degree programs, many of which offer different concentrations within an academic field.
A cookout style lunch will be provided for Cameron Campus Preview Day participants, and each prospective student will receive a swag bag.
Cameron Campus Preview Day attendees will also learn about Cameron’s various student organizations, which provide opportunities for students to be actively engaged in campus and community activities.
“By the end of Cameron Campus Preview Day, attendees will have an understanding of the wide variety of resources and opportunities available to our students,” says Dally. “Along with our small class sizes, students receive the individual attention that our ‘family’ campus has to offer. Our staff and faculty are committed to preparing students for successful careers after they complete a degree at Cameron.”
