Cameron University’s Visiting Writer’s Series continues on Friday, October 8, with Gary Reddin. Reddin will read samples from his work starting at 7 p.m. in the McCasland Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Complex.
Reddin grew up among the cicada songs and tornado sirens of Oklahoma. His writing was born out of this dissonance. His chapbook, “An Abridged History of American Violence,” was published in 2019. Reddin’s work has appeared in The Dillydoun Review, Essay Daily, Stoneboat, Marathon Lit Review and Dragon Poet Review. He has work forthcoming in Oklahoma Today. A Cameron alumnus, Reddin is the editor of 580 Monthly Magazine and The Oklahoma Review. He is also the senior arts and entertainment writer for The Lawton Constitution. He currently lives in Duncan with his wife and their cadre of animals. Reddin is an MFA candidate at Lindenwood University.
The Visiting Writer’s Series is presented by the CU Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages.
