Beyond the Classroom
Cameron Psychology Clinic
This innovative clinic is one of only two in Oklahoma and the only one with community access to better serve clients. This totally free clinic provides graduate students hands-on training under the supervision of experienced, licensed faculty members while providing free access to mental health services to members of the community who may not otherwise have access to such care.
CU Be A Therapist
The Cameron University School of Graduate and Professional Studies and Department of Psychology will partner together to host “CU Be A Therapist” event. Community members interested in learning about becoming a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist or a Licensed Professional Counselor are invited to join us!
Department of Psychology Honors Program
Once accepted, students must successfully complete at least three “honorized” courses. It is mandatory that the student contact the instructor of the course the first week of class.
Internship Opportunities
Course credit is available for students who complete an internship within the field of psychology or family and child studies, and who meet the qualifications.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Several of the Psychology faculty offer research training opportunities for undergraduate students. Many of the psychology faculty collaborate on research projects with each other and offer students the opportunity to develop research expertise in a variety of topics (impulsivity, life strategy, time perception, psychological disorders, cognition, etc.). Any students interested in participating in psychology research should discuss these opportunities with their psychology faculty advisor or psychology professors teaching courses in the department.
