Campus Engineers
The Campus Engineers maintain, operate, repair, and secure Cameron University's mechanical, electrical, heating/air conditioning systems, and plumbing facilities. In addition, campus engineers:
- Maintain public health through the mechanical systems
- Maintain ventilation and filtering systems
- Conduct asbestos evaluations
- Perform safety inspections
- Oversee utility construction
- Monitor and maintain fire alarm systems
- Assist in new building planning
- Design assistance regarding mechanical systems
- Perform chemical treatments
- Perform waste treatments
- Conduct treatment of water resources
- Manage energy systems
- Maintain all hydraulic and pneumatic systems
In addition, Campus Engineers Campus Engineers also operate the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as needed for University sponsored and/or approved events.
Preventive Maintenance
Preventive maintenance is an integral part of the Campus Engineers. To prevent emergencies and equipment breakdown, Campus Engineers conduct ongoing preventive maintenance of equipment on and within Cameron University. These preventive measures include inspections, lubrications, filter and belt changes, and cleaning. Maintenance work is performed according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance procedures. Campus Engineer's preventive maintenance responsibilities include those mandated by government regulation, local and state codes, and insurance requirements. Many of these responsibilities, such as fire alarm testing, are designed to ensure the safety of building occupants.
Work Requests are performed by Campus Engineers and may be requested by faculty or staff by filling out a Work Request. Some of these repairs include:
- Dripping faucets
- Fix interior light fixtures
- Replacement of light bulbs
- Repairing of sewer systems
- Repairing of fume hoods
- Adjustment of heating and cooling temperatures within a building
- Power outages
- Adjust building ventilation and fan systems
- Repairing of refrigerators
Cameron University Campus Engineers are composed of very skilled and experienced Engineers. Campus Engineers combine over 225 years of experience with 60 years plus in Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration, 70 years plus in Electrical Services and Control Work, and 95 years plus in Plumbing Services and Construction.
